Griffith Park is a well-known spot for both locals and tourists and is one of the largest urban parks in the country. It is where the Griffith Park Observatory is and where the famous Hollywood sign sits. It is also believed to be haunted.

The park is supposedly cursed by Dona Petrenilla, niece of the person that was in charge of the land, who was enraged after not being part of the will. Those who were involved in the will fell victim to the curse, including Griffith J. Griffith, who the park is named after. (and who later went to jail for murder) Rangers and caretakers of the grounds have reported seeing figures including that of Dona and some other ghosts.

Eery drums

While wandering close to the carousel at Griffith park while it was night time, the four of us heard drums. There was no one in sight and when I mentioned the sound of drums out loud, suddenly the noise stopped. I was skeptical at first because I thought that maybe there was just someone nearby that we didn't see playing the drums, but it was still creepy. Looking around more we all noticed that there was for sure no one around, and headed back to the car. We talked about Griffith Park for a while and looked up some of the stories surrounding the spirits that haunt the place. One of my sisters noticed that there was a short description about a spirit you can sometimes hear playing instruments at night. We were careful not to go back out though because there were several coyotes wandering the premises at the time. The day before my sisters and I were at the Old LA Zoo while the sun was setting, and there was a weird sensations that we got at a tree near a stream of water. When the three of us approached the tree my sisters phone suddenly started playing a video on her phone of us from Griffith Park the day before where we were laughing, but the screen was black and there was no video openly playing when she unlocked her phone. It could have just been a technology malfunction but it was still very creepy.
