Vanderlip Mansion - Real Haunts in Rancho Palos Verdes CA
- 99 Vanderlip Dr.
- Rancho Palos Verdes, CA
This mansion is situated inside a private, gated community located on the Palos Verdes Peninsula and is rumored to be haunted. Stories say that the former owner, Mr. Vanderlip's daughter, who committed suicide after being told she could not marry her African American lover, built an insane asylum and locked his daughter inside. He then killed her, her lover and their baby. Another story tells of a wife, Narcissa, who murdered and chopped up her family, burying them inside the walls of the mansion. She then killed her two dogs and hanged herself in the living room from one of the beams. In this story, it is said glowing ghost dogs haunt the yard and the ghostly woman and her family linger inside the mansion.
Felt sick to my stomach
We got there and realized the community was gated, however just as we were Turning around to leave the gate open so we went inside the property. As soon as we entered my stomach started to hurt I felt sick to my stomach, a knot in my stomach. It was super creepy! We drove all the way to the top of the mansion and you could just tell that it was haunted.Posted 8/2/20
Interesting place to go, yet shouldn't.
There was a ritual area to the back of the property that looked to have dryed blood stains on it. . Just walking along the fence line one can tell that something bad happened and that you shouldn't be there.
Super creepy at night. Posted 7/1/20
