Hotel Del Monte - Herrmann Hall
Monterey, CA 93943
This building was once a luxury resort hotel from 1880 to 1942 and was leased to the Navy to be used as a school to train electronic technicians during World War II. After the war ended, the building became the Naval Postgraduate school and featured its main building, Hermann Hall along with administrative offices and a hotel. A ghostly gray-bearded man wearing a suit named Charles Croker is said to haunt Hermann Hall. His apparition has been spotted throughout the hotel and there have been reports of other strange occurrences including objects that move on their own, banging bread trays, shattering glasses, taps on people's shoulders and the old elevator that is said to move by itself.

Reviews
I was stationed there in the navy. I had two encounters with poltergeists there. No visusls, just doors slamming with absolutely no one around.

We searched for 25 minutes with no luck around 10pm. Just walked around the hotel, going to places where we had heard he haunts. We didn’t see anything, but also didn’t do to much research.
