Calico Ghost Town
Yermo, CA 92398
This old West mining town has been around since 1881 during the largest silver strike in California. During a 12-year span, Calico produced over $20 million in silver. In the mid-1890's, silver lost its value, leading Calico to lose its population. The town then became abandoned, leading it to be called a "ghost town." Today, the town is part of the San Bernardino County Regional Parks system and is a tourist attraction. It features shops, restaurants, and even camping. It is also said to feature some ghostly happenings including cold spots and presences that can be felt all throughout the town.
